How our PRP hair treatment in Sydney works?

Platelet Rich Plasma is the latest medical hair and skin rejuvenation technology that utilises your body’s own natural nutrients.

PRP is injected into the scalp for hair treatment or face/skin for skin repair

The Rejuvenated Hair Follicles recieve the PRP and grow thicker and healthier

PRP is short for Platelet Rich Plasma. Our Doctor or Nurse will collect a small sample of your blood as you would normally conduct when you have your routine blood test at your doctor’s surgery. The blood is collected and placed in a special container. The container is then placed in a machine called a centrifuge where your blood is spun for approximately 15 minutes so it can separate your blood components. Under the watchful eye and guidance of The GP Dr James Maungour, our Registered Nurses with qualifications & experience in cosmetic injection applications conduct all the works in a professional practice

This is when we apply a numbing agent to your scalp for hair treatment. We commence stimulating the area initially with a small hand held derma pen or derma roller that consists of many micro fine small needles that we use. This procedure makes micro wounds in the scalp that tricks the body by thinking that there is an injury in that location, so the PRP that will be injected directly in that area will begin to do its job immediately.

The Platelet Rich Plasma has now been separated from your normal whole blood. The PRP that contains abundant growth factors and stem cells is now ready to be injected to the scalp. We use the PRP which normally appears like a gold yellow clear fluid as per picture on the left-side of the page. The PRP is applied by a micro needle usually with a meso injection gun as per picture below, the process is virtually painless.

Immediately after the treatment the highly concentrated PRP that was injected in many different areas of the scalp for hair treatment begins to work to bring vital nutrients to that area, kick starting the existing cells to do their job. By separating the PRP from your red and white blood cells we essentially are able to take the pure form of your bloods best of the best nutrients and healing properties and inject it into the area we want to promote healing.

PRP FOR HAIR LOSS

STRESS is a huge factor that effects hair loss Dramatic change in weight (generally fast weight loss). Your diet – You are what you eat, so eat the correct things (no junk food) read our PREPARING FOR PRP page for more info about food and supplements that we recommend. Many men especially have the hair loss gene inherited from their parents, as soon as they hit a certain age, then the hair loss becomes dramatic. To stabilise this you need to commence intense back to back PRP treatments to bring vital nutrients to the effected Hair follicles that are dying.

Another major contributor is a chemical called DHT (Dihydrotestosterone) which effects the hair on the top of the head, this chemical is increased by higher levels of Testosterone especially in men. The hair follicles on the sides and back of the head are generally not effected by DHT hence why most baldness is to the top part of the head not the back and sides. Again by conducting PRP treatments this combats the effects of DHT by reversing the damaged hair follicles to become healthy.

hair prp treatment, What are the options?

Topical therapy and supplements offer help for thinning hair and hair loss such as what other hair treatment clinics offer.

However new developments show the effectiveness of PRP therapy combined with early detection and regular treatments help minimize the problems of hair thinning and hair loss by sending nutrients to the dying hair follicle. This begins rejuvenating the thinning follicles eventually controlling the hair loss issue and maximising the thickness of the existing hair follicles. PRP hair treatments does not replace Hair implants, PRP treatments go hand in hand with hair implant surgery.

Visualise a plant growing in a pot or some garden, to relocate this plant to another location you will need to make sure that the soil and plant in the new location has enough nutrients for it to bond and grow again otherwise it will simply die.

Hence during the hair implant the surgeon actually conducts a PRP scalp treatment for the patient and then explains to them that regular PRP treatments are recommended for best long lasting results. Another key point that you need to understand is that we have less hair on the sides & back of our heads than what we had on top. When a person is a teenager they have around 100,000 hairs on their head, approx. 70,000 on top region and approx. 30,000 on sides and back.

Now you will understand why it is so important to maintain the hair on top of your head, if you lose all 70,000 hairs on your head then you cannot replace the lost 70,000 with only up to a maximum of 10,000-12,000 which simply does not cover the area on top.

This is the reason why Revive Clinics PRP treatments is the wise choice, you are limited with the hair supply on the sides and back of your head hence you need to make sure you look after the existing hair you have on top of your head.

Should I conduct a hair transplant before I commence the PRP treatment?

This is really your choice, but our advice would be to conduct around 6-8 Revive Clinics PRP treatments close together so that you:

control you existing hair loss

thicken your existing hair follicles

strengthen your existing hair follicles

hair follicles that you can never replace

Why am I losing my hair?

Hereditary hair loss & genetic hair loss is also known for its medical name as Androgenetic Alopecia. This hair loss is the most common form of hair loss that affects both men & women that is inherited genetically from your parents. This hair loss gene has a timer that triggers causing hair follicles to become weak when they come in contact with a hormone known as DHT.

DHT mostly affects the crown, mid and frontal hair line of your scalp hence why in most cases the sides and back of your hair is strong and un-affected. There are many other hair loss reasons other than the main one above such as extreme stress, your diet, your age and gender and other sicknesses.

Is DHT – Di Hydro Testosterone the cause of my hair loss?

DHT is not the sole cause of your hair loss as on its own it doesn’t cause hair loss.Combined with your inherited hair loss gene when it comes in contact with DHT it causes the hair follicles to weaken and slowly die. Obvoulsy hair loss does not happen overnight, but the signs begin early on when you start seeing the hair follicle becoming thinner, weaker, finer, flatter and then it eventually dies and you are left with a bald spot.

Unlike a skin cut or other injuries the body does not recognise that our hair follicles are being injured because the process occurs at a slow pace, hence it goes on undedicated.

FAQ’s

What Is Platelet Rich Plasma?

Plasma is the main liquid component of blood and platelets are just some of its solid components. Platelets are responsible for blood clotting when you get injured and they also contain other proteins (growth factors) which are helpful in healing injuries. Platelet-Rich Plasma, or PRP, is plasma which has an increased level of platelets in them. The platelet count in PRP can be up to 10 times more than is usually found in your blood. With more platelets come more growth factors, which can help speed up healing.

PRP is prepared by first drawing blood from the patient. The platelets in their blood are then separated and then increased through centrifugation. The finished product is the PRP and it is then used to treat injuries. This can be done either through injecting the PRP at the site of injury or incorporating PRP into the healing process after surgery on the injured area.

How Can It Help With Facial Rejuvenation?

PRP has been used in cosmetic surgery to help with skin rejuvenation, particularly for signs of aging on the face. The rejuvenating properties of PRP can help reduce a person’s wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars and stretch marks on the face. It’s more natural than using Botox but uses a similar process of injection.

How does it compare to other hair loss treatments?

Our clinic in Sydney uses PRP instead of hair loss treatments like hair restoration surgery. A specialist uses a PRP injection to specific areas of a patient’s scalp in order to stimulate hair growth. Unlike surgery, a PRP injection is less invasive and produces only mild discomfort which can be addressed by a local anesthetic.

Are PRP Injection and Treatment performed in Sydney?

Yes. Revive Clinics is located in Sydney, Australia. We have a PRP specialist available to assist you with our PRP injection and treatment. Our treatments are available whether you’re a male or a female looking for PRP treatments for your skin rejuvenation or hair growth. Each treatment session is done in our clinic and doesn’t take too much time.

Is Revive Clinics a Hair Loss Clinic?

We are not only a clinic that specializes in treating hair loss, although our PRP treatment is used as such. As mentioned above, our PRP treatment is also useful for facial rejuvenation. So if you’re looking for a skin rejuvenation or hair loss treatment in Sydney, we’re here to help.

Is PRP useful for hair loss?

According to researches, PRP is linked to the effective reduction of hair loss due to alopecia as well as from regular causes of hair loss. It’s considered as a natural alternative to other hair loss treatments and can also be used in conjunction with hair transplant or surgery to improve the results of the hair restoration surgery.

Do you offer package and initial Free consultations?

Yes, we do.

Is It safe?

PRP injections are considered safe as compared to other treatments because the processed plasma and platelets come from the patient’s’ own body. Thus, there is very little chance of getting an allergic reaction or a rejection when the PRP is injected into their bodies.
